As some of you may have noticed, it seems that imgsafe.org is no longer operational. You may recall that imgsafe was one of the hosting platforms we suggested for our Gallery Connect widget. Unfortunately, their site appears to be offline, and has taken down any images hosted there as well.

We don't have any official affiliation with imgsafe, so there's nothing that our team can do to restore their site – we are not sure they will ever be back in business. Please accept our sincerest apologies for recommending them, we're embarrassed!

If you've used imgsafe.org with Gallery Connect on a published site, you will want to take action to restore gallery images that will now be incorrectly linked. The quickest fix is to move your images to another host or location. The issue isn't with the Connect widget itself, but the link to your images no longer being accessible.

We have a detailed training video outlining how to use other hosts, such as Dropbox, Flickr, Facebook or self-hosting directly through Muse: https://visualarms.wistia.com/medias/0jrav2zavl

Self hosting your images by manually uploading them to your server (via FTP or through Muse) will always be the most stable way to host the images. Again we're very sorry about imgsafe going down. We had no foresight that this would happen, and we certainly would not have recommend it if we knew it was coming.

Please let us know if we can answer any additional questions or help in any other way.

It seems that imgsafe.org is now working!
What is your opinion can we use it safely even though they had some problems a while ago?

Jeremei, personally, with so many other, more reliable choices out there, I have chosen to use the other methods.
If Imgsafe works for you, and you find it meets your requirements, then I see no reason you couldn't use them.
I think it comes down to personal preference.
