    Hi all,

I´m using the "Cookie Notification Bar" and have a question because of "European Data Protect Rights": Next year Webdesigners will have to give visitors (by law) the opportunity to decline cookies.
If the Website User click the "decline" button, it is not allowed to set one cookie to the users browser.

Now I´ve tested the MuseThemes "Cookie Notification Bar" but also when I´m clicking the "decline"-Button, there are still some cookies of this website in my browser (chrome, Safari).
I think, I´ve done everything right – but I see no chance to tell the browser, NOT do set one single cookie from my Muse-website.
The screenshot shows the cookies in Chrome-Browser, after I press the "cookies decline" Button.

    Any idea?

    Greetings Berndt

    Hi berndt.

You are, of course, referring to GDPR. Specifically, Recital 30. Easily searched, so I won't paste it here.

The short version is that if the cookie(s) cannot be used - alone or in conjunction with any other data - to identify the individual, then you are fine.

But get a legal opinion on the specific application if you are unsure.
